  1. Oh my goodness! If only I could win!! I am a certified K-8 teacher with my MEd in Reading and I can teach K-8 or as a Reading Specialist in K-8, but my last two Reading Specialist positions I’ve been laid off from … yes, laid off twice in a row now because I’m first to get cut since the jobs are federally-funded. Desperately trying FOREVER to get back into the “regular” classroom so I can get paid by the district and have more stability, noone is letting go with this economy, especially in elementary. Plus I’m single, no benefits… Anyhoo, the reason I bring this up … the irony of it all … is I have never ever had any kind of reading device, as much as you know I’d love one!!! Yeah, I know…haven’t been able to afford one. Well, I keep plugging along and keep trying to stay uplifted whenever possible. I just wish I could drop off applications still like the “old days”. I don’t even know if anyone ever sees my stuff anymore; at least before I walked in and handed it to a secretary with the hope they would hand it to the hiring personnel. Plus now I’m too “expensive” as well. Anyway, I hope YOU will be amazingly successful in your new series and make a “WICKED” load of money with it! Congratulations and happy writing!!
